Volkswagen Virtus
The Volkswagen Virtus is the replacement for the Vento which had a strong market presence. Will the Virtus do the same? Well, we will have to wait. Virtus is similar to its sibling Skoda Slavia and has a strong build with quality. With 179mm of ground clearance, it is capable of confident offroading. Volkswagen offers 1.0L TSI which produces 115hp and 178Nm with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque convertor and a 1.5L TSI which produces 150hp and 250Nm with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch. The prices start at 11.31 Lakh Rupees ex-showroom.
Kia Sonet
Kia Sonet was the third launch for Kia and it had a tremendous response rivalling various mid-size cars along with the Hyundai venue its sibling and yet managed to find a sweet spot in the market. The reasons could be its wide range of offerings and segment-first features which allowed catering large demography of customers to suit their needs. It offers a 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol engine which produces 81hp and 115Nm of torque and a 1L 3-cylinder petrol engine which produces 118hp and 172Nm of torque. The prices vary between 7.49 lakhs and 14 lakhs ex-showroom.

Kia Seltos
Kia Seltos was first launched in August 2019 and the company went aggressive I would say on offer, be it engine options, features, or pricing to compete with established rivals. And I would say that they were successful with over 25000 units sold till September 2022 the company has managed to lure customers and is planning to launch a facelift in early 2023. The Seltos gets a 1.5L diesel 4-cylinder engine which produces 113hp and 250Nm of torque. The price ranges from 10.49 Lakhs to 18.65 Lakhs ex-showroom.
Honda All New City
It’s been 22 years since the first city came to India and I have to say that the craze for this car has not faded away. with its premium interiors and build quality, it has managed to pick a top spot for Indian buyers. And there have been constant facelifts and relaunches to keep the badge fresh and appealing. The All-new honda city is no different, with its modern design and good-quality build it will be a great choice for premium sedan buyers. It comes with a 1.5L diesel engine producing 97hp and 200Nm of torque but is currently only in manual option. The prices are between 11.57 lakhs and 15.52 lakhs ex-showroom.
Kia Carens
Kia Carens is the new entrant to Kia’s line up and it is just amazing. The sheer experience it has to offer with MPV stance, good ground clearance, and the ease of driving around the city. Like all its predecessors this too offers a wide range of trim options with 1.5L diesel offering 115hp and 250Nm of torque with both manual and automatic options. It is also offered in a 7-seater bench as standard and a 6-seater captain seat for top trims. Prices range from 9.60 lakhs to 18 lakhs ex-showroom.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is the first proper SUV lineup for India. And it has managed to add proper premium appeal to it. With leather upholstery, a heads-up display, and a panoramic sunroof it is evident how Suzuki is trying to capture the premium segment. The engine comes with a 1.5L dualjet delivering 103hp and 137Nm of torque. Grand Vitara comes with its Intelligent Electric hybrid which promises around 20kmpl. The design is shared with Toyota as a part collaboration which is available as Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Prices are between 10.45 lakhs and 19.65 lakhs ex-showroom.

All-New Honda City Hybrid
The All-new Honda City hybrid is one of the best hybrids you could get for a price bracket of 20 lakhs with e-HEV’s intelligent hybrid technology which is a bit complex but does the job. The efficiency numbers are 19.8 kmpl for the city and 22.5 kmpl for the highway which is unbelievable for a mid-size sedan. The prices start at 19.89 lakhs ex-showroom.
Toyota Urban Cruiser
The Toyota Urban Cruiser is a rebadge of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza as part of its platform-sharing collaboration. This brings in Toyota’s hybrid technology and Maruti Suzuki’s efficiency. Toyota offers various trim levels from mild hybrid to full hybrid with a claimed mileage of a whopping 27.97kmpl. The prices vary from 10.48 lakhs to 19 lakhs ex-showroom.
There have been several interesting launches in 2022 with a shift of focus towards hybrids and electric.
