You may think MG Motors UK LTD or Morris Garages is a pure British Automobile Brand. But it looks like the Royal Bloodline turned Chinese.

MG stands for Morris Garages which is an almost Century old Company. It was founded in 1924 by William R Morris. Over the years, with it’s glorious history the ownership, the company has been moved into so many hands and finally being owned by Nanjing Automobile which was acquired by a Chinese Automobile Giant SAIC Group.
Who is SAIC ?
Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) is the largest automotive group in China and seventh-largest automotive design and manufacturing company in the world with 7.05 million sales and a 24.1 per cent market share in its home market last year.
SAIC has an array of joint ventures with Volkswagen and General Motors for production and selling of vehicles and MG Motor is the largest importer of Chinese made cars into United Kingdom as well as to other parts of the world under the name MG.
MG’s plan for Car Expo 2020
MG Confirmed that they will be showcasing the All-new MG 7 Seater ( Hector Plus ) along with 14 others MG Models which includes EVs.
Talking about the car lineup, Rajeev Chaba, President & MD, MG Motor India said, “MG Motor India is committed to accelerating the adoption of eco-friendly, next-generation mobility solutions over the long term in India. To achieve this goal, we aim to establish our technology leadership and further consolidate our position in the Indian automotive space.”
He also mentioned that MG’s core focus will be mainly on innovation, customer experience and sustainability-led development. It’s likely to be expected that MG’s lineup will include their global car models like MG3 and eMG6 etc..
In future, we can also expect more number of Chinese automobile brand’s entry into our Indian automobile market.
