    Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 Review

The one of a kind mythical tale of the making and breaking of Arth has finally returned to great uproar and enthusiasm. Despite a number of concerns over the change of the cast for the role of the protagonists – from Song Jong-ki’s Eunseom and Saya to Lee Jong-gi’s and from Kim Ji-won’s Tanya to Shin Se-kyung’s, Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun has maintained and even enhanced the original chronicle of Arth. The new season has managed to smoothly and successfully transition from where it left off in season 1, which was probably the greatest hurdle in its path considering the large fan base that season 1 has garnered.

The change of protagonists has been justified with a passage of time in the show where the new additions have truly portrayed the original characters with a lot of maturity that comes with age. Where Song Jong-ki’s Eunseom mirrored a certain kind of innocence not only just visually, Lee Jong-gi’s Eunseom has evolved into a better leader, warrior and overall a more mature individual. Similarly, we saw Kim Ji-won’s Tan-ya at the turning point of her taste to power and are met with Shin se-kyung’s older version of Tan-ya who although might look fragile and kind, but is not only a good strategist but is also aware of her power as a spiritual leader, the Niruha, over the masses.

The narrative of Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun is as engaging and interesting as ever. However, the most interesting aspect of the series is that, with the unfolding of events of season 2, one cannot but exclaim how much it radiates as a Korean adaption of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, atleast partly, where Tagon assumes the fateful role of the tragic hero of the Greatest English dramatist till date. Tagon, a skilled warrior, kills his own father San-ung who is as much Duncan as he is Banquo, haunting Tagon in a very symbolic scene during one of his court meetings.

Tagon’s traumatic childhood where he is denied a right to exist, fuels his obsession with the difference of colour of his purple blood and his obsession of assuming the figure of Aramun Haesulla since it gives him a purpose and justification for his existence as an Igutu, a half breed and also as the King of Arth. It is this fatal flaw that exaggerates his near downfall. The Macbethian reference is brought to life in a scene where Tagon stands alone in a forest ravaged by fire marking the near swift end to his tyrannical, expansionist and almost maniacal hunger for power.

The show, being true to its aim of documenting human nature and humanity, presents how humans are a function of time, that is, change. Whereas some members of the once kind, peaceful Wahan tribe, like Tanya’s father, chose the side of power and violence, the most morally twisted Ago tribe, well known for killing and selling their own brethren, transforms into the most loyal and connected people under the leadership of Eunseom’s Inaishingi.

The dialogues also shine with their memorable moments like Saya’s proclamation to Tagon on consuming poison, “You’ll die at my hands. Remember my face” referring to his twin, Eunseom’s fateful, prophetic encounter with Tagon. Lastly, The Sword of Aramun brings some minor characters into limelight with the allegiance, loyalty and friendship of Yeonbal, Gitoha and Suhana, forgiveness of Mungtae, kindness and love of Nunbyeol and Chae-eun and the unbreakable grit and familial bonds of momo tribe especially that of Momo’s Karat in season 2.

In a nutshell, Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 : The Sword of Aramun is a great success with its characters, storyline, brilliant action sequences, twists and turns, and a capable cast. Catch the season 2 if you haven’t already on Disney+!

The Worst of Evil Review: Step Into The World Of The Noir In This Action-Thriller Kdrama With Ji Chang-wook and Wi Ha-Jun

    0

The Worst of Evil Review – Step into the neon-lit streets of 1990s Seoul, where the city beats to the rhythm of the bars, street food stalls, and electrifying nightclubs. In the middle of it all stands none other than the rising star of ‘Squid Game’ fame, Wi Ha-jun, and popular Hallyu star Ji Chang-wook of ‘Healer’ in this new crime drama action thriller – The Worst of Evil!

    The Worst of Evil Trailer

    The Worst of Evil Review

    The Worst of Evil Review

“Don’t judge a book by it’s cover” they say and although it might seem as a mere hackneyed idiom, ‘The Worst of Evil’ proves it spot on. At first glance, it seems like yet another kdrama crime-thriller, but it soon hooks the viewer with its intriguing story, it’s play with characters, and within a few episodes, consolidates it’s position as a watch-worthy noir in the kdrama universe.

Ji Chang Wook makes a glorious comeback into his ‘Healer’ and ‘K2’ era persona, the two breakthrough kdramas of his career which brought him immense popularity as a star. In The Worst of Evil, he is back with a bang! His performance has been noteworthy where he plays the role of an undercover countryside police officer, Park Jun-mo.

At the other end of the star spectrum, Wi- Ha Joon displays his incredible acting skills in portraying the charismatic yet daunting personality of the leader of Gangnam Union, the upstart Gi-cheul. Gi-cheul also, feels like an extension to Wi Ha-joon’s Little Women character Choi Do-il in demeanor and colour. Is it Wi Ha Joon’s “evil” era? We don’t know yet, but he’s surely causing some solid ripples with his projects and performances throughout the kdrama landscape!

Set in the wild, noir landscape of 1990s Gangnam district of Seoul, The Worst of Evil displays the exciting and insane gang wars, drug trafficking, the mafia universe of fierce rivalries and quest for power. This seemingly parallel world of crime, where Wi Ha-jun’ Jung Gi-cheul sits on the throne as the upstart drug lord, is soon infiltrated by a countryside sergeant, Park Jun-mo played by Ji Chang-wook.

Jun-mo finds himself in a precarious situation when he marries into an established family of police officers. He soon finds himself at the bottom of the family ladder. Under pressure to rise up the ranks, he accepts to carry out an undercover operation of infiltrating and exposing the Gangnam Union which is responsible for the international drug trade between South Korea, Japan and China.

Also Read – Moving Kdrama Review: Superheroes enter the K-universe!

The crux is not only how the show showcases the many hues of a gangster narrative, but it also feels like a study of the deeply intertwined character and relationship of Jun-mo and Gi-cheul. Jun-mo, being an undercover police officer, is on a mission but at the same time, there are moments when talking to Gi-cheul about his past, the two find solace in the commonality and nostalgia of their past. Both have had a troubled childhood with absent or violent father figures and dysfunctional families, where Yoo Eui-jung becomes a complicated connecting thread – being Jun-mo’s wife and Gi-cheol’s high school sweetheart.

Although Jun-mo is the hero of the show, the good-hearted police officer and a kind, loving husband, Gi-cheol doesn’t just become a mere two-dimensional gangster villain but at times, display the many carefully condensed layers within himself, stealing the spot of an ambiguous persona, an anti-hero at par with Jun-mo. In one of the scenes where his childhood friend and comrade-in-arms question his judgement about his rendezvous with Eui-jung, who is also a police officer, Gi-cheul says, “Well, some things are dangerous but worth trying, right?” in a relatable and the most humane way out of reach for a mere gangster villain persona.

Ballerina Netflix Review – Follow Blood Chase in This Engaging Thriller

Ballerina Netflix Review – Dive into the world of the mad blood chase in Netflix’s new revenge action-thriller ‘Ballerina’ in this Ballerina Netflix Review! If you have ever been bewitched by the fast-paced, unpredictable twists and turns of ‘Gone Girl’, screamed in frustration at Dong-Eun’s predicament in the psychological revenge thriller ‘The Glory’, felt yourself immersed in the life of the three sisters in ‘Little Women’ and cheer for Seo-A Ri battling the world of glitz and glamour in ‘Celebrity’, then this film might just be what you are looking for!

    Ballerina Netflix Review – Review

Netflix’s new revenge thriller, Ballerina, revolves around Jang Ok-Ju’s, played by Jeong Jong Seo, vow to avenge the death of her friend, Choi Min Hee as she becomes a victim of a sex-trafficking ring. The plot is quite straightforward in terms of a revenge thriller. Min hee and Ok-ju share a deep friendship, almost to the point that the film suggests something more. This relationship becomes the base of Ok-Ju’s revenge saga, quite similar to Hollywood’s John Wick franchise starring Keenu Reeves.

Also Read – Nowhere Netflix Movie Review 2023: A Hit or A Miss?

As is with all thrillers of similar nature, there is little that we know about the characters, and the focus is solely on the current action. All we know about Ok-ju is that she used to be a former elite bodyguard where she tells Min-hee in one of the hallocinatory flashbacks of the film:

“I thought that one day I could die doing this job. I didn’t feel alive. It felt like I was was slowly dying. But the day I ran into you, I realize for the first time, how much fun life could be. I felt like I could finally breathe.”

Clearly, Ok-Ju seems to owe her life to Min-hee and it comes as a shock when Min-hee attempts suicide leading Ok-Ju to the prime antagonist of the film, Choi Pro played by Kim Ji-hoon.

One of the great aspects of the film is definitely the cast. Both Jeong Jong Seo and Kim Ji-hoon have last worked together in Money Heist Korea: Joint Economic Area. Jong-seo does an impeccable job at playing the grieving, no-nonsense Ok-ju whose only aim is to avenge Min-hee. For instance, Ok-ju’s personality, quite amusingly at that, comes to fruition when Ok-ju barges into the drug manufacturing plant of the sex trafficking ring where she shoots the leader, right in the head, mid-sentence, while he is inviting her to sit with him to chat.

On the other hand, Kim Ji-hoon plays the Choi Pro, a narcissistic sexual predator with an inflated ego. It’s quite interesting how he is always able to play twisted criminals so well, whether it is Choi Pro or Baek Hee-sung in Flower of Evil. He is so good that you can’t help but hate his characters, the mark of a successful actor.

The most striking aspect of the film is how the film plays with the idea of colour and space. The entire film is very vibrant and instead of dialogues, it uses colour and spaces to create an atmosphere of suffocation and gloom as is felt by the victims. Complimentary pastel colour palette is used for Ok-ju’s happy memories with Min-hee while contrasting colours of black and neon yellows, greens and reds and more are used to create a chilling, frightening, stifling atmosphere.

The best example would be the red room where Choi Pro takes all his victims to, signifying blood and danger. It is the very room where Ok-ju strikes Choi Pro, leading to the shot of his blood dripping in a very significant symbolism.

The comic relief sequences in the film are also worth noticing. The film employs black comedy where in a heavily dramatic scene, Okju cuts a deal with the gun dealers only to discover that none of the guns are any good. Followed by the gun dealer granny’s display of how good the flamethrower used to destroy wasps’ nest is! The flamethrower is eventually used by Ok-ju on Choi Pro by the end of the film and we see the culmination of the Ballerina’s justice. Over all, Ballerina is a great watch, displaying great performance by the cast, face-paced and engaging plot with well choreographed action sequences that are an absolute delight for an action-thriller lover! Watch Ballerina on Netflix!

Honest Overherd Oat Milk Powder Review: A Sustainable Approach to Oat Milk

Overherd Oat Milk Powder Review – As a versatile, nutritious dairy alternative, Oat milk has amassed huge popularity in the realm of plant-based beverages. The neutral taste, creamy texture, and eco-friendliness have made Oat milk a tempting choice for health and environmental-conscious consumers alike. But is oat milk sustainable? Though oat milk is vegan and helps reduce carbon emissions, most well-known brands’ products are 90% water. You get only 10% of oat milk which is packaged in several layers of plastic. And this is what big corporations market as “Being Sustainable”. Really boomers? Really?

On closer look, you pay mostly for water and transportation when you buy popular oat milk brands. And, that’s a rip-off! To make things worse, nobody seems to really care or know this, which is exactly what is wrong with our society. Gladly, team Overherd is here for a change. Personally, I am pretty much sold on their idea of sustainability. Hopefully, their efforts to save our planet and make our generations happier (excluding boomers from the list, of course!) become fruitful. But, are their products as sustainable as their ideology? Let’s dive into the details.

    Overherd Review – The Brand

If you are trying to be a sustainable person, you must be aware of where and what you are supporting with your money. And so, the first thing I personally check out is the brand. My first impression of the official website of Overherd was “damn, that’s a cool website”! I love the way they have articulated all of their ideas, reasonings, and marketing into a simpler but a cool conversation model (Gen Z approved👍🏻). Simple but clear reasoning behind their efforts and honestly it makes sense. When we purchase one pack of oat milk powder from overherd, it makes 8 liters of milk.

Overherd Oat Milk Powder - 4 liter Pack - Just A Library
Overherd Oat Milk Powder – 4 liter Pack

That is 8 fewer milk cartons and plastics, 91% less packaging weight, 10x less CO2 emissions, and less wastage. Another interesting fact about this brand is that founders have thought through the end-to-end journey of their products. While they supply the products in fully recyclable LDPE plastic pouches, it is still plastic. But the differentiation is, that they also advise on how to dispose of the empty pouches. Furthermore, they are making efforts to move away from plastics altogether. To make things even more sustainable and sociable, the company is open to any sustainable ideas for packaging which can be pitched to them via team@overherd.uk. Sounds cool!

    Overherd Review – The Products

Launched in January 2023, the Overherd brand sells mainly powdered oat milk on a subscription basis. This gluten-free, organic oat milk powder is available to buy in 2 sizes – 4 liters and 8 liters. You can get them individually, or as a starter pack with includes powdered oat milk (4 or 8 liters), a 600ml glass bottle, and a recycled bamboo scoop. Neat! Now for the main part, the powdered Overherd oat milk product review. In the following sections, I will touch base on the product ingredients, packaging, pricing, and my personal experience, before giving the final verdict.

    Overherd Ingredients

    1. Oats – Obviously! This Oat Milk powder contains 68% organic gluten-free oats which are naturally rich in minerals and vitamins.
    2. Coconut – The product includes coconut Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) powder (modified starch), which provides creaminess and healthy fats. MCT, for those who are unaware, helps with insulin resistance, weight loss, and waist loss.
    3. Chicory – Chicory root provides smoothness and prebiotic fiber goodness to help with digestion.
    4. Nutrients – Overherd oat milk powder is fortified with Calcium and Vitamin B12 for strong bones.
    5. And that’s it. Quite a small, but impressive list!

Overherd Oat Milk Powder – Packaging

Overherd Oat Milk Powder Review - Starter Pack - Just A Library

The Overherd oat milk powder was delivered to my doorstep in a brown cardboard box sealed with branded paper tape. Quite impressed that this brand has gone the extra mile to achieve sustainability in every possible way. A simple, planet-first approach to cause a stir. Within the simple cardboard box was a cute pink pouch of oat milk powder, a 600ml glass bottle, and a bamboo scoop. An appealing pink fully recyclable LDPE pouch with a ziplock that seals in the goodness, I must say.

Overherd Oat Milk Powder – Pricing

Overherd sells oat milk powder in two sizes – 4 litres and 8 litres. The 4 liters pack is available for one-time purchase at £6.99 or can be bought at £5.99 on a subscription basis whereas 8 liters pack costs £12.99 (one-time purchase) or £10.99 (subscription). Here’s a quick math. Popular oat milk brands retail their fresh whole oat milk for a minimum of £2/litre at Tescos and Sainsbury. In comparison, Overherd costs £1.74/liter for a 4-liter pack and £1.62/liter for an 8-liter pack. That’s roughly £0.15 (minimum) saved per liter you chug in one-time purchases and 4/8 milk cartons less. If you opt for subscription packs, the savings are far higher.

Overherd Oat Milk Powder – My Experience

As mentioned before, I got the starter pack in the 4-litre size. Overherd oat milk powder is beige in colour with fine texture, and pleasant oats-coconutty smell. At first, I was skeptical of the product and made a small batch of 200ml oat milk with 2 scoops of the powder (just I like it creamy). And to my surprise, it tasted just fine. Smooth, creamy, and fresh oat milk with a hint of sweetness, which comes from the oats naturally. Later on, I went crazy and experimented with so many different things. Obviously to test its versatility!

My word, that oat milk made with Overherd oat milk powder goes a long way. I went from making tea, coffee, and smoothies to cakes, cookies, and curries with this oat milk powder. Since I am not an avid milk drinker, the 4-liter pack lasted me almost 6 weeks. It is very economical and easy to use. Not to mention the convenience, especially when traveling or trekking.

It’s lightweight, instantly but freshly made which tastes good. The glass bottle is very handy with milliliter markings and leak-proofing. All you need to do is scoop the powder into the bottle, add water, close the lid, and shake, shake, shake. The powder blends into milk and forths just by handshaking. No blender or electricity is needed!

Another advantage I noticed was the space-saving inside the fridge, which is brilliant. I don’t have to spend electricity and fridge space to keep oat milk refrigerated throughout. The oat milk powder can be stored in a cool dry place for 4-5 months once opened. Only the leftover milk, if any, needs refrigeration. Also, very low wastage. Since I am making the oat milk for the quantity I need, the chances of having leftovers and wastage are extremely low.

Strong Girl Nam Soon Review – Once upon a time, not in a faraway kingdom, but rather in the enchanting year of 2017, there dwelled a spirited soul named Do Bong Soon. Her effervescent and endearing personality, combined with her extraordinary strength, quickly won the hearts of all who crossed her path. Fast forward six years, a new contender for the affections of the Do Bong Soon’s audiences has emerged: Do Bong Soon’s fearless and kind-hearted cousin, Gang Nam Soon! Let’s take a look at her story in our Strong Girl Nam Soon Review, now, shall we?

Strong Girl Nam Soon Review- Trailer

Strong Girl Nam Soon Review Cast

Lee Yoo-mi plays the lead as Gang Nam Soon who is Hwang Geum-joo’s daughter (played by Kim Jung-eun) and granddaughter of Gil Joong-gan (played by Kim Hae-sook). As for the male leads, Ong Seong-wu appears as Gang Hee-sik, who is a lieutenant in the Gangnam Han River District Police Department specializing in investigating drug cases and Byeon Woo-seok plays Ryu Shi-oh, the CEO of the distribution and sales company ‘Doogo’.

    Strong Girl Nam Soon Review

Strong Girl Nam Soon, as expected, revolves around our cheerful, free-spirited protagonist, Nam Soon. Nam Soon is a wealthy heir of her family business owing to the resourcefulness and business skills of her mother Hwang Geum Joo, CEO of Gangnam Pawn shop ‘Gold Blue’. In a turn of evil events, Nam Soon is separated from her family in Mongolia and has been living with her foster family ever since, ignorant of her culture, identity and supernatural heritage. Over the other side of the continent, Nam Soon’s family is frantically searching for the heir of their bloodline and for their beloved daughter.

Lee Yoo-mi is almost unrecognizable from her previous projects like her portrayal of a self-centered yet pitiful high schooler Lee Na-yeon and an abused Ji-yeong (Player No. 240) who sacrifices herself for her partner since she doesn’t have anything to look forward in life. Every character of Lee Yoo mi’s have been starkly different from the her past character portrayals which is commendable.

On the other hand we have former Wanna One star Ong Seong Woo who has been appearing in not mere romantic comedies but soulful, thoughtful and eccentric shows like Life is Beautiful, Would You Like a Cup of Coffee, More Than Friends, At 18 and more. He is doing a great job in Strong Woman Bong Soon as well.

The overall energy of the show is that of a mix between a fairytale and a classic superhero comic book where Lee Yoo-mi is our bubbly, full of life, Nam Soon. Strong Girl Nam Soon is, as expected similar to the energy and nature of its predecessor, Strong Girl Bong Soon, but still quite different and distinct in it’s own right. While its predecessor was more of a feel-good romantic comedy, Strong Girl Nam Soon is more of a light crime and superhero kdrama than a romantic comedy.

Strong Girl Nam Soon takes centre stage with Nam Soon and her mother being central to the ongoing conflict of the show – that is, the war against a fatal drug. By doing so, the show emphasises on the “strong women” of the show. Moreover, unlike in Strong Girl Bong Soon, the women are fearless and display their strength openly as opposed to Bong Soon. So, there is a shift where Nam Soon and the women of her family exert greater agency than their cousin.

Also Read : Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 Review: Will the Prophecy Come True?

Strong Girl Nam Soon, as a kdrama, is supposed to be a light-hearted, fun kdrama without any major complexities, where the narrative focuses on Nam Soon and her family’s superhuman abilities. Likewise, the characters in the kdrama are quite similar to caricatures. The heroes and villains of the show are one directional and flat. Nam Soon and her family is always the epitome of goodness while the prime antagonist of the show, Ryu Shi-Oh, CEO of Doogo, is a classic one dimensional villain whose only goal is to wreak havoc. Owing to these characteristics, the show follows a one dimensional live-action portrayal of a generic comic book plot without a creativity and uniqueness to offer, leading to predictability and monotony.

So, if you are looking for a brain-teaser plot and characters, Strong Girl Nam Soon might be a disappointment to you. However, it does have its own charm since it feels like a ride to an amusement park with no strings attached! If you are interested, join Nam Soon in her roller-coaster life in Strong Girl Nam Soon at Netflix!

In this new edition of food-o-phoria with JAL, I bring you Gangnam Korean Restaurant review along with some suggestions for what to order so you don’t feel like a headless chicken with the unfamiliar and daunting menu.

Gangnam Korean Restaurant Review: Where to Find it?

Gangnam Korean Restaurant is located in one of the narrow lanes of the busy hubbub of Majnu ka Tila in New Delhi. You can reach Majnu ka Tila by taking an e-rickshaw for Rs 20 per person from Vidhan Sabha metro station.

Gangnam Korean Restaurant Review: My Experience, Order Recommendations, and More

As a regular visitor of Majnu ka Tila since 2017 and a Korean food enthusiast, I have visited the popular places in the area and even after so many years, there are always many new unknown gems that I come across. If I had been visiting Majnu Ka Tila for the first time, I would have sworn that no decent restaurant could exist in the place. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Majnu Ka Tila is a Tibetan refugee colony that had been mostly forgotten until recently when it was declared to be developed as a food hub by the Delhi Government. No sooner had it been announced that the narrow, broken, dark streets of this quaint little place were thronged with new faces of young college students, food enthusiasts, bloggers, and more. So, it is inevitable that this popular restaurant has come under the limelight!

Gangnam Korean Restaurant has a very vintage Asian vibe and it has recently been renovated and expanded. The ambiance is one of the key attractions of the place because it is just terribly beautiful and aesthetic. When you enter, a warm color palette greats your eyes and the recent addition of a mini cherry blossom provides a bright popping aesthetic contrast. The expanded restaurant offers multiple seating options – you have the popular separate rooms, the classic Asian open floor seating, and the conventional chair-and-table seating area further inside the place. As they say, there’s something for everybody. Pro tip: You might want to get your cameras ready.

Gangnam Korean Restaurant Review: Food - 7/10

I have tried a variety of dishes. The overall food experience is great. It is delicious and hearty. They have recently expanded their menu which now deserts and mocktails as well! One serving can fill up two people easily which justifies the prices of the dishes. Some of the dishes I tried and you can check out are:

    1. 1. Jjajangmeyeon or Chapagetti (4/5): It tastes a little sweet. The noodles are thick and the sauce is neither too thick nor too watery. It’s perfect and get a sunny side up with various kinds of veggies! yum.
    2. 2. BBQ chicken wings (5/5): They are to die for. These chicken wings are covered with thick, creamy BBQ and taste heavenly.
    3. Ddonkkatseu (fried chicken/pork cutlet) (3/5): it was crispy from the outside but was a little dry. Also, doesn’t taste very good after it gets cold.
    4. 3. Ttoek-bokki (spicy rice cakes) (2.5/5): The rice cakes were chewy but the sauce was too thin. The sauce was also tasted exactly like kimchi. Made the dish a little bland and took the charm out of toekbokki.
    5. 4. Dak-Bokkeum (stir-fried chicken with vegetables) (3/5): tasted exactly like kimchi sauce again and too many vegetables with less chicken pieces for the price.
    6. 5. Mandu Soup (dumpling soup) (4/5): This was only available in the chicken variant when I visited. The soup is very savory and includes eggs in it which almost feel like noodles. The mandu are big and taste delicious.
    7. 6. Bbimguksu (cold spicy noodles) (2/5): I am not a fan of these. The noodles were too thin for my liking and the sauce again tasted like kimchi.

Gangnam Korean Restaurant Review: Service - 7/10

The staff is pleasant and very hospitable. However, with the sudden rush, there seems to be a delay in service. They also offer a service where you can try on hanboks (Korean traditional clothing).

Is Gangnam Korean Restaurant worth the hype?

Gangnam Korean Restaurant has a very vintage Asian vibe and it has recently been renovated and expanded. The ambiance is one of the key attractions of the place because it is just terribly beautiful and aesthetic. The food and service are also good, not exceptional.

Gangnam Korean Restaurant Review: Final Verdict

    Overall JAL Score

The ambiance is amazing. The separate rooms give you the much-wanted privacy while you soak in the classic Korean drama/anime-style restaurant experience. Visitors have a large dishes to choose from however many of the dishes, as I mentioned, taste similar to the kimchi sauce and it feels like you are eating the same thing with variations which is sadly a disadvantage for regulars especially since the prices start from over Rs 300 and go upto Rs 2000. You might also find a queue on weekends since Gangnam is one of the popular Korean restaurants so be prepared!

Only Murders In The Building Season 3 Review: Who Killed Ben Glenroy?

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Review: Murders and mysteries are always a favourite topic to those who seek thrill in fiction. These stories keep you engaged, make you think and perhaps also give a life lesson or two. When one story starts to become a series of stories, it becomes quite difficult to live up to the legacy formed at the first instance. It is easy to lose sight after one starts to live on past laurels. But that is not the case with Only Murders in the Building.

Only Murders in the Building premiered its season three on August 8, 2023 and concluded on October 3, 2023. The show stars Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin in the lead. Their characters Mabel, Oliver and Charles form an unlikely friendship and embark on an adventure to solve the murders happening in their building. The show lived up to its reputation of being something more than just a whodunit. It is a story of individuals, it is a story of groups, it is a story of friendships and bonds forged beyond familial ties. It is a commentary on the society, it is a commentary on the hidden evil. Above all, it is a story that will make you want to start a podcast!

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Trailer

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Summary

As you can see in the trailer, Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building deals with the mystery of Ben Glenroy’s death. He was introduced in season 2 of the show and so was his death. It is revealed in episode one of season three that Ben did not die at the theatre. Staying true to the show’s title, Ben does die but he dies at The Arconia! But nothing should be taken at face value when it comes to murders and those who live in the building! As Oliver prepares to make his theatrical debut a success at any cost, and as the trio try to solve the mystery of Ben’s death, the story becomes an unravelling in itself.

Throughout this season, we saw each character growing in their own space. The priorities changed, new changes were welcomed and new quarrels were dealt with but even then the friendship between Mabel, Charles and Oliver was not changed. As this season came to a conclusion, with it, it brought a wave of newfound wisdom and clarity. Seeing Oliver and Charles evolve, fall in love, achieve their dreams in their seventies gives a hope to the viewers that it is never too late to do what you want to do.

The suspense was as intact as we say in the first two seasons. Though, poor Charles. He had to get his heartbroken all over again. The addition of Meryl Streep to the cast was quite the surprise. Her character Loretta is docile yet strong. Loretta is a testament to the claim that life is full of lessons and it remains on the person on how to take those. Despite decades of small roles and rejections, Loretta did not give up on dreaming big.

Paul Rudd as Ben Glenroy was the perfect caricature of the high-maintenance actors who go on haphazard diets, live off their egos, consider anyone else below them and simply think the world revolves around them. Ben Glenroy was a character that you initially hate but eventually come to sympathise with. With a patient and caring approach, perhaps there was something good left in him that could be salvaged.

Each side character has a story of their own, an agenda of their own. The actors in Oliver’s play are symbolic to the cut-throat nature of the entertainment business. With each character, Only Murders in the Building highlights the people whom we might know in passing, but never looked closely at. It indicates that the finer details are what make up a person’s personality, just like the finer details help crack a seemingly unsolvable murder case.

The show also brought the ideas of podcasts to the forefront. Podcasts have existed for a good numbers of years now, but their popularity rose further during the pandemic when people were stuck inside their homes with a lot of time at their disposal. Humans craved something to pay attention to, divert their minds to, and podcasts came to the rescue. Seeing how the trio in Only Murders in the Building also rise to stardom status with their podcast, it encourages others to start one of their own. The only difference? The trio solves their own murder cases, often times while being the prime suspects in each case!

Will there be Only Murders in the Building Season 4?

Yes, there is definitely going to be season 4 of Only Murders in the Building. As we saw in the finale episode, Charles’ body double Saz is shot in the chest when she goes to bring the wine from Charles’ apartment. Just before that, Charles receives a cryptic text from Joy, his ex-girlfriend. In season 3, there were certain times when Charles thought that perhaps he might be the target. We cannot ignore that those mentions were not a foreshadow for the events which would follow next.

If the first two seasons are any indication, then each cryptic text received by the trio in the finale episode is like that short thread which when pulled would unravel a larger picture. In this season as well, Joy’s text to Charles is definitely a signal at some game at play. In each season, somehow Charles is the one to receive these text messages. Perhaps he needs to change his number to avoid anymore murders in the building!

Nowhere Netflix Movie Review 2023: A Hit or A Miss?

Nowhere Movie Review: A Hit or A Miss? – Humans are wired to feel fear. Scientific studies have shown that fear and anxiety, which we feel nowadays, is an evolutionary trait inherited from our ancestors. Fear and anxiety have been the most basic adaptive evolutionary trait of early humans who had to constantly be vigilant of the threats around them. The threat of the wild.

And so, almost every human being is bound to the other with this inheritance. The fear of the unknown. And what could be most unknown, the most feared but nature itself? When something as unpredictable and as powerful as nature is your enemy, how do you survive? With this thought, we bring you the tale of a mother’s sheer will to survive against nature in our Nowhere Netflix Film Review!

    Nowhere Movie Trailer

    Nowhere Netflix Film Review

    Nowhere Review – Plot

Nowhere narrates the tale of a pregnant woman named Mia, who while trying to flee a totalitarian regime in Spain with her husband, finds herself trapped in a shipping container, floating adrift in the sea towards – nowhere. The film follows Mia’s resourcefulness, her struggle, and her sheer will to keep her and her newborn baby alive while the container threatens to sink with no food, water, or land in sight.

    Nowhere Movie Review

Nowhere begins with chaos all around a country overtaken by an authoritative regime. A dystopian world where Spain, due to a shortage of resources, has become the place where guns rule over everything, where those who are vulnerable need to be shot dead to save the scarce resources, and where women, children, and elderly – nobody is spared. More death simply means more food for the living. The fine line between life and death, good or bad, has blurred completely. In such a chaotic scenario, we meet Mia and her husband Nico, trying to flee to Ireland which is presumed to be beyond the influence of the “regime”.

The plan is to leave the country in a shipping container. However, in a turn of events Mia and Nico are separated. The women in Mia’s container are hidden behind a false end which is promptly discovered by the authorities, where they shoot every single person except Mia, who is hiding on a pile of boxes, out of sight. She soon finds herself drifting alone in the sea after a turbulent storm when her container is thrown overboard.

The film’s crux is loaded and driven by the idea of the unknown, the nature vs human dichotomy. Mia is completely helpless and at the mercy of the sea. The thrill factor is also derived from this very dichotomy – can a mere mortal human survive against a larger force like the sea? When the unsinkable ship, Titanic, could not overcome the whims of the natural world then what can a mere pregnant woman do?

The trope of a pregnant woman in a survival thriller is quite obvious as a choice to heighten the stakes and make the viewer as involved as possible. The filmmakers seem to cash on the common idea of motherhood as the strongest virtue of human beings, where a mother’s sheer will to safeguard her child’s life and interests, transcends any threat of the unknown. We see the transition in Mia’s character from when she thinks she has lost everything to when she gives birth and fights to keep her child alive amidst all odds.

However, as much as the film tries to keep the audience’s attention in the first half, it soon loses in the second. The coincidences are just way too many to predict the intention of the film. Mia not only finds useful tools to keep the container from sinking but is also able to collect drinking water from the miraculous rain just about when she most needs it.

Moreover, she has suffered one too many injuries where there is a dedicated scene of her sewing her ripped flesh. One wonders how she recovers from a wound without any signs of septic resulting from exposure or how she is able to survive in extreme freezing conditions without developing hypothermia.

    The Moon 2023 Movie Summary

The Moon tells the fictional story of South Korea’s independant space program of sending astronauts to the moon. Set in the near future, the first attempt failed drastically with the astronauts losing their lives and the head of the program taking his life. Cut to five years later, the political scenario is still sensitive and reeling from the after-effects of the failure. This time though, the team is much more confident.

Three astronauts, namely Lee Sang Won (played by Kim Rae Won), Cho Yoon Jung (played by Lee Yi Kyung) and Hwang Sun Woo (played by Do Kyung Soo) prepare to be the next human fleet and first Koreans to step on the moon. The happiness of sending the second fleet of humans on the moon is quite shortlived as the solar wind flares affect the space ship. Two of the three astronauts sent in space head to check the malfunction. They are killed in the spatial accident. The only one remaining astronaut is Hwang Sun Woo. He is a former ace military soldier, but lacks experience.

The solar wind flare mishap affected the space ship, but Sun Woo is determined to land on the moon and make his country proud. The head of the program who took his life earlier was none other than Sun Woo’s father Hwang Gyu Tae. The chances are slim, but he takes those. He does successfully land on the moon, becoming the first South Korean citizen to do so. He is soon faced with a new challenge. A ferocious meteor shower hits him, and leaves him stranded on the moon. The space ship and the lander are severely affected. Thus begins his tryst to go back home safely.

The space center team on Earth put everything together to bring their surviving astronaut back home. Though reluctant, the current flight director of the program invites the former flight director to help combat the challenge at hand. The former flight director is Kim Jae Guk (played by Sol Kyung Gu). Gyu Tae and Jae Guk were close friends and colleagues. Sun Woo harbours resentment towards Jae Guk for the program failed previously and his father lost his life.

Keeping their differences aside, everyone comes together to overcome the challenge at hand. Jae Guk was previously at NASA, but he was brought back to KASC after much persuasion. His ex-wife remained at NASA and eventually settled down in the US. Despite the failure of the first program, Jae Guk is a smart fellow. It was not his intellect that led to that failure. How Sun Woo comes back home is the crux of the story.

The Moon 2023 Movie Review: Critique

Each expression – fear, doubt, resilience, peace and pride – is vividly shown in the movie. Each character delivers a fine tuned performance – the literature graduate minister heading the science and ICT Ministry, Sun Woo who is alone in the space with everything against him, Jae Guk who fears he would face the mishap again and lose his friend’s son and even Min Gyu (played by Park Byung Eun) the current flight director of the program.

Sun Woo is a former military cadet who chose to be in this space program for his father and to test his own resilience. He is tough on himself and puts the bar quite high. When he is stranded in space, the fear is stark on his face that perhaps he might meet the same end as his team mates. But he decides to fight until his last breath. With the help of the team of KASC and his own presence of mind, Sun Woo overcomes the challenge.

Characters like Kim Jae Guk are often a fan-favourite for they make the audience think over their own morals and philosophy. He is smart, fearless but also harbours a worry for Sun Woo who is out in the space. He takes a chance that Min Gyu thinks twice about. Luckily, the chance works in their favour and Sun Woo is granted help, even if it is momentary. He has a guilt from the past, which he carries around in his heart everyday. What is the guilt? Watch The Moon to find out!

Moon Young (played by Kim Hee Ae) is a Korean-American citizen and now running to be the next director of NASA. Upon her attempts to help Sun Woo, she is met with criticism and allegations of treason from her bosses. These scenes with Moon Young, although shorter in duration, present a good example of how an immigrant is treated. Despite having shown loyalty towards USA, now when she is trying to help her home country’s astronaut, many eyebrows are being raised.

Jo Han Chul, who plays the role of the Minister of Science and ICT drops a sly comment saying why would the government appoint a literature graduate as the minister of science. He had requested to be put in the foreign affairs ministry, but was denied. His lack of understanding is clearly seen as he struggles to understand the information passed around on the KASC floor. This instance goes to show that there needs to be a proper election of individuals to hold positions of power within the government, someone who fits the job description and understand what it entails.

Each frame of the movie, right from the crowded public places in Korea to the stunning looking galaxy is a treat for those who like cinematic wonders. Each scene is artfully crafted to lend a cathartic experience to whoever watches the film, regardless of their nationality. d.

Is The Moon 2023 Movie worth watching? Is Moon Movie worth it?

Yes for sure, The movie strikes the right chord with the viewers as it compels them to think about their own actions should they face any such predicament. It also leaves a testament to human resiliency and fighting spirit. It shows that when it comes to saving a fellow human, we forget the borders and boundaries and stand united.

    The Moon 2023 Movie Rating

The scientific aspect and dialogue delivery in the movie are definitely going to be point of interest for all those who harbour a passion for all things space related! The surface of the moon, the meteor showers, the craters, the rovers and the space stations, each is shown as close to the reality as possible. By the time the movie comes to an end, you would want to just keep on looking at the spatial landscape and bask in the wonders outside of the Earth.

If you are looking for a nail-biting, edge-of-the-seat thriller, then The Moon is a must-watch!

Jaane Jaan Movie Review: Who is Suspect X?

Jaane Jaan Movie Review: Emotions like love and infatuation know no bounds. One can feel these emotions for anything they deem special, be it a person or a tangible object. Lifetimes have been devoted towards achieving an object of desire. People who are obsessed in their love towards things often feel alienated because of their desires. It becomes quite difficult to remove oneself from that world of desire.

In this write-up, let’s take a look at how a math prodigy’s love for the subject and a woman drove him to take a drastic step. I am talking about “Jaane Jaan” on Netflix. The movie is the official Hindi adaptation of the hit Japanese thriller novel “The Devotion of Suspect X” by Higashino Keigo. Jaane Jaan was released on September 21, which also happens to be the leading lady Kareena Kapoor Khan’s birthday. This movie also marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s debut on the OTT platform. Let’s dive into Jaane Jaan movie review.

    Jaane Jaan Movie Trailer

Jaane Jaan Movie Summary – Jaane Jaan Movie Plot

Kareena Kapoor Khan is Maya (Soniya) D’souza, a single mother who lives with her teenage daughter Tara and runs a bakery in Kalimpong. Jaydeep Ahlawat is Naren Vyas, aka Teacher is their neighbour and secretly enamoured by Maya. One day, Naren had decided to take is own life after he found out that the puzzle he had been trying to solve for the past ten years was solved by someone else just a couple of days ago. Maya unexpectedly knocks on his door and unknowingly gives Naren a will to live. Naren becomes enamored by Maya. He begins to keep a secretive tab on her and Tara.

When Maya’s estranged husband Ajit Mhatre arrives in Kalimpong, threatening Maya, she kills him in a scuffle. Naren volunteers to help Maya out of this mess, and takes the matter in his own hands. Naren’s sharp wit is met head to head with that of Vijay Varma’s Karan, the inspector from Mumbai who is assigned Ajit’s case. Ajit was a notorious detective, known to dip his toes in all things illegal. Upon Ajit’s disappearance, Karan begins the investigation and finds Maya as the main suspect. What follows after forms the main crux of the story. Watch Jaane Jaan on Netflix to find out what happens next!

Jaane Jaan Movie Review – Is Jaane Jaan worth watching?

Since “Jaane Jaan” is an official adaptation of the novel, it follows the story almost to the T. While the novel ends with the female protagonist confessing to her crime, in the movie we do not see that happening. After Naren confesses to the crime, he asks Maya to not divulge any information. The movie is just under two hours and artfully captures the pivotal points from the novel. Owing to the cold and dark landscape of Kalimpong, most scenes that happen outside sport darker frames, sometimes making it difficult to focus as well. The only brightly-lit scenes are those from Maya’s home. Each element is clearly visible in the house.

It won’t be wrong to say that this dual tone reflects the story told by the characters. When in light, the story of Ajit’s disappearance is quite clear, but when in the dark, the story is shrouded in uncertainty and doubt. Just like the light that clears the vision and the dark that distorts it.

The first 30-ish minutes of the movie present a delightful start to the characters and their backstories. Naren and Maya have one sighting each about a possible future consequence, but those are neither later explored or explained. One would hope that those sightings would add to the mystery of an unsolvable murder case, but those remain to be a ‘blink and you miss’ scenario.

Jaane Jaan movie review - Just A Library
Jaane Jaan movie review – Just A Library

Not going to lie, despite not having read the novel, the movie seemed fairly predictable from the get go. With some scenes giving a deja vu of past popular thrillers, to round and round investigation around Ajit’s murder – this Sujoy Ghosh directorial fades in comparison to the director’s prior works. There are moments where you feel something might just come and surprise you, but that sadly is not the case. The title of the film is also a good word play on the retro hit song “Jaane Jaan”. One would think that the song might play a pivotal role in the story, but it just becomes a guest for a few minutes at a karaoke bar.

One would have expected Maya’s character to be much more challenging and intricately put together, but she just ends up being a puppet on Naren’s strings. She does what she is told, without putting much thought on her own. Naren, well, say out of sheer innocence, he had the chance to take advantage of Maya’s situation but he did not. Karan’s character had the chance to go out of the way and stick to investigating Ajit’s past, but in the end, he simply wraps up the murder investigation and heads back home.

Having followed the novel, the movie stayed true to the parent story. The novel was also written almost two decades ago. The thriller genre has quite evolved since then. The makers had the chance to play off of Naren’s character and show him going into a spiral, or show Maya’s character stepping away from the chalked plan and trying things on her own.

It would have been great fun to watch Karan and Naren outwitting each other at every step, instead of a five-minute rundown at the dojo. The angle of ‘Suspect X’ was interestingly carved out (Who else smiled a little at the not-so-subtle nod to the novel’s title?) . The math equation angle to a carefully planned murder cleanup was definitely a highlight of the movie.

Ajit’s character comes across just like a catalyst to explore the dynamic of Naren and his emotions towards Maya. Even in the novel, we see this character appearing briefly, without much preamble and disappearing equally quickly without much consequence. One can argue there Ajit’s character was a lost potential plot point. His character was introduced as the main lead to an illegal gang operation, but his death put a full stop on the investigation for that case.

But when it comes to the individual characters, each lead delivered a great performance. Jaydeep Ahlawat whom we have seen portray varied roles across OTT platforms, was definitely a delight to see on screen. Naren is different in his looks, in regards to his mindset, and his overall approach. Jaydeep Ahlawat brought out the intricacies quite well. Those smirks when he felt he would be outwitted but wasn’t, and those moments of self-assurance when he knew his calculations worked – these were quite notable to watch. Vijay Varma as Karan was another surprise. His portrayal of a smart and hard as nail detective was quite interesting to see.

Lastly, coming to the leading lady Kareena Kapoor Khan. A lot of focus was centered on her since it was her OTT platform debut and an on-screen appearance after quite some time. Kareena’s portrayal of Maya fit the bill of a woman trying to make ends meet and escape her past, all the while securing a steady lifestyle with her daughter.

Its ability to combat free radicals, stimulate collagen production, and reduce the appearance of dark spots has earned it a top spot in the skincare community. The pros of incorporating Vitamin C into your routine are clear: brighter skin, improved texture, and a more youthful appearance.

However, it’s important to consider potential cons as well. Some users may experience initial redness or irritation when introducing Vitamin C into their routine. This is often due to the acidic nature of Vitamin C and can be minimized by gradually introducing the product and pairing it with a good sunscreen. Hence, it is best to try all the products on a smaller patch before you start using it on a daily basis.

    Garnier Vitamin C Serum Review

I’ve been using the Garnier Vitamin C Serum for a quite a while now, and here’s what you need to know. I use it mostly in the day time. Every morning, I apply 6-7 drops on clean skin for a burst of hydration. Worth mentioning that this serum feels incredibly light-weight, almost like water. I’ve also been using it at night, and I can say that doesn’t leave a white residue. However, if you have oily or combination skin like me, it can make your skin feel a bit oily which will make you look dull. For dry skin folks you guys might want to follow up with a moisturizer.

Now, let’s talk results. Garnier Vitamin C Serum is easy to absorb, but it won’t give you instant brightening, not to me though. But, here’s the good news: After a week, things started changing. Dark Pigmentation decreased, light acne spots starts to go away, and darker ones lightened, but not completely. This serum also improves skin texture and overall complexion. It works for all skin types and tones too. But, just don’t expect miracles in a few days.

For those dealing with dark spots, this Garnier Vitamin C Serum works well. I have an oily and acne-prone skin and I can say dark spots and blemishes faded, leaving my skin tone looking brighter and healthier after three weeks of usage. So, if you have uneven skin tone or acne-prone skin, give it a try. This serum doesn’t just give a instant or brightening glow like they claim but it leaves your skin feeling soft. It even reduces pore size somewhat, though not drastically.

In terms of skin type, like I’ve mentioned earlier, it’s suitable for all. Even sensitive can go for this. With regular use, you’ll notice a healthy glow and improved texture. It’s a solid Vitamin C serum. In terms of old acne scars may take time, but they do fade. New pimples disappear within a week or two weeks, although the scars might remain visible.

Regarding packaging, it comes in a cardboard box and a glass bottle with a dropper. The dropper is handy for precise application and keeps the serum germ-free. However, a darker bottle would protect the serum from light better.

How to Use Garnier Vitamin C Serum?

    1. Kickstart your skincare routine by giving your face a gentle cleanse. Pat your skin dry to prep for the magic ahead.
    2. Grab a smidge of Garnier’s Vitamin C Booster Serum – about the size of a pea – and plop it onto your fingertips. No need to go too much with rubbing; just gently spread it between your palms to keep things even.
    3. Dab the serum all over your face and neck using light tapping moves. This helps your skin soak up all the good stuff for a radiant vibe.
    4. In the a.m., follow up with your favourite moisturizer, and at night, use a suitable night cream.
    5. For the best results, make this Vitamin C serum your daily sidekick.

Cleanse your hair thoroughly and make sure you do not have any leftover buildup since it will end up weighing down your hair and make it frizzy and oily. On dripping wet hair, apply the leave-in conditioner section-wise to evenly distribute the product. Use a styling comb if necessary. Follow up with a gel, custard, or curling cream, and to balance protein and moisture, try and use a moisturizing product. Scrunch to form curls, make sure to be gentle to avoid frizz. Ashba Botanics Leave-In Conditioner: My Experience

Just to give an idea, I have 2C-3A, medium porosity hair that loves more moisture than protein. I bought the product after reading the claim that the product is moisturizing for all hair types and after reading customer reviews claiming that it has great slip, and is easy to work with. This product has protein in it and even though the brand claims that it provides moisture, for my hair it doesn’t really work well.

Also ReadmCaffeine Products Review – Good, Bad, Price, and FAQs

The application process of the conditioner is also difficult since unlike popular belief, I find that it does not have adequate slip to evenly distribute the product. Combing through the product to evenly distribute is also difficult and frustrating. At times, if your hair is on the thinner side, it does make the hair feel oily if you apply too much. Since the slip isn’t great, I often find myself applying a little too much of the conditioner in order to do away with the wet frizz thus, leading to oiliness.

Even though my hair isn’t on the thinner side, it does make my hair look and feel oily and weighed down due to over-application. If I don’t apply enough, then my hair remains frizzy and tangly. I seem to find no in-between so it’s a no-go from my side. However, if you have high-porosity hair that thrives on protein, Ashba Botanics Leave-In Conditioner might work well for you since a lot many protein-loving, high-porosity customers swear by it.

This Leave-In Conditioner is priced at Rs 1099/- and you can buy it from Ashba’s website.

Once Upon A Crime 2023 Review: Is Cinderella Really Innocent?

Once Upon a Crime 2023 Review: We all have grown up reading or watching fairy tales which tell us that there is always a bifurcation between the good and the evil, the black and the white. But what about the gray? There is never a stark difference between two things, there always is a gray area that one has to look into. Growing up, we all were told that Cinderella was the innocent victim of her stepfamily’s cruelty. But what if there was another side to the story? What if Cinderella is not as innocent as she seems?

The latest Japanese investigative comedy movie – Once Upon A Crime 2023 shows another side to the tales we grew up listening to. The movie is adapted from the web novel ‘Akazukin, Tabi no Tochu de Shitai to Deau‘ by Aoyagi Aito. Kamata Tetsuo, who is popularly known for ‘Higashino Keigo Mysteries‘ wrote the screenplay. Fukuda Yuichi, whose notable works include the drama ‘Gintama 2′, and the movie ‘Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku‘, among others. ‘Once Upon a Crime’ was released on Netflix on September 14, 2023.

Once Upon A Crime 2023 Trailer

Once Upon A Crime 2023 Summary

The movie introduces the audience to Little Red Riding Hood (played by Hashimoto Kanna). We come to know how and why she is being called Little Red Riding Hood. Her doll-like features might fool an onlooker but she is quite the smart woman. She crosses paths with a witch named Barbara with wonky magic skills. The two meet Cinderella (played by Araki Yuko) who is looking very downtrodden. She expresses her desire to visit the Prince’s (played by Iwata Takanori) ball at the royal castle, but they only allow beautiful-looking people inside. The whole region is rife with their obsession for beauty.

As Cinderella’s known tale goes, she gets her wish granted. Little Red Riding Hood accompanies her to the ball as well. In this ball, the Prince would be choosing his bride. Every girl in the kingdom wishes to be the Princess, but only one would get chosen. But on their way, they find the dead body of Mr Hans, the royal hairdresser. They manage to reach the ball on time, but soon enough the news of Mr Hans’ death reaches the palace. A series of back and forth and the investigation soon begins. Upon suspicion, even the Prince is put behind bars.

Little Red Riding Hood unravels the mystery behind Mr Hans’ death. She uses her wit, intellect, and acute observation skills and soon finds the true killer who killed Mr Hans.

Once Upon a Crime 2023 Review

Stories like ‘Once Upon a Crime’ are quite interesting in their own right. These stories not only challenge the age-old norms and misconceived notions the society has been following but also present a whodunit that keeps the audience hooked. With a run time of one hour and forty-six minutes, the pacing feels quite slow and stretched out. There is a lack of any soundtrack, which adds to the mundane tone.

At certain points, the story does seem predictable and the comic reliefs in between feel forced. For those who are used to fast-paced thrillers, or engaging plotlines, ‘Once Upon a Crime‘ might dazzle less in comparison. But at its heart, the movie makes a great attempt at challenging the norm that only those with blemish-free bodies and beautiful faces and figures should be regarded as members of society.

The maker’s take on Little Red Riding Hood is quite interesting to watch. In every fairy tale, women have been deemed as frail, weak, and damsels in distress. In Once Upon a Crime 2023, you see a woman challenging the norms, doing the job that would have been given to a man in most cases, and also managing to break out of the stereotypes set upon women in fairy tales.

Will there be a sequel for ‘Once Upon a Crime‘?

‘Once Upon a Crime’ concluded with Little Red Hood having solved the mystery behind Mr Hans’ death. After reuniting the Prince with his lover, Little Red Riding Hood takes their leave and goes back to her chores. Upon the narrator’s final words, one can assume there could be a sequel in the words, despite no official word from the makers. But if a sequel is truly in the works, it will be a delight to see more fairy tales come to life in such a format.

    Once Upon A Crime 2023

JAL gives ‘Once Upon a Crime’ 2023 7.5 out of 10 for its solid narration, out-of-the-box thinking, and enjoyable experience.

The Lakme Peach Milk moisturizer has a soft crème texture, which is extremely lightweight almost like whipped cream, not only straight out of the bottle but also on your skin. Once applied, its easy absorption formula locks the moisture for 12 hours and smells fresh. Surprisingly, the Lakme peach milk moisturizer has a subtle, pleasant peachy fragrance that goes well with its lightweightness. You can feel the same creme texture on your skin once applied.

    Lakme Peach Milk Moisturizer ReviewBenefits

    Lightweight

Unlike the normal drugstore moisturizers, Lakme Peach Milk moisturizer is a light milky creme that doesn’t clog your pores. When applied, your skin feels smooth and free, making this a great makeup base.

    Hydration for all skin types

The Lakme Peach Milk works on all types of skins. Especially if you have oily skin like mine. This moisturizer doesn’t make your face oily like the ulundhu vadas or donuts, but rather gives a dewy cute hydrated look.

    Even skin tone

One of the benefits of continued use of Lakme Peach Milk is that it creates an even skin tone while nourishing your skin. It’s like a ‘one-stop for all’ kind of product.

    SPF24

This moisturizer also provides sunscreen protection with SPF24. While this might not be as impressive as other products, from a daily use perspective, something is better than nothing.

Lakme Peach Milk Moisturizer Review – How To Use

Take a dollop of moisturizer in your palm and apply it evenly on your face using your ring finger. Then, gently rub the creme on your face with middle and index fingers and leave it for 2 minutes.

Lakme Peach Milk Moisturizer Review – Personal Experience

Lakme Peach Milk moisturizer is one of the products that I started using as a teenager. In terms of price, this product is a definite winner. It’s your one-way ticket to smooth glowing skin on a budget. Another impressive factor is its lightweightness, which lets your skin breathe even with the product on.

Lakme Peach Milk moisturizer is my personal favorite makeup base. Since this product is meant for daily use, the natural or no-makeup makeup look, which most of us do daily, can be achieved with less effort.

I have oily skin. Every morning when I wake up, my face would look like an oily donut and my sensitive skin would blister for any product I use regularly. However, Lakme Peach Milk moisturizer is one of the few products with which I haven’t faced this issue. So, for sensitive skin, this product may be a good choice.

There aren’t many exciting and overly complicated things with this product. The commercial doesn’t claim many benefits with this product either. But whatever the company claims as benefits, this product delivers evidently. So, overall, this moisturizer is a good choice for starters on a budget, and I would recommend it for daily use.

    Moving Kdrama Review – Plot

Why are the parents so paranoid? Why are they trying to hide their children? What’s the role of the state in all this? Who are the people trying to kill them and why? How will their stories end and what is their history? Find out more in Moving on Disney+!

    Moving Kdrama Review

Moving Kdrama (2023) is based on the webtoon by Kang Full, set in a world where superhumans or well, superheroes do exist! The Moving Kdrama release date was 9th August 2023 and has 20 episodes in total. It has become the most-watched Korean TV series on the Disney+ platform globally and on Hulu in the United States. So, there’s no doubt that there’s something they are doing right!

For the past few years, Korean dramas have extensively diversified their genres and viewership, moving beyond the tag of romantic comedies to producing some of the best thrillers, zombie or otherwise! Moreover, they have ventured into genres like dystopia, science-fiction, and now, superheroes! Needless to mention as an avid kdrama fan, I am definitely excited!

Moving as a show is completely unique in the kdrama universe. Even though such genres have been used exhaustively in the West and in other countries, due to cultural and conceptual differences, every genre in a different culture is a new genre altogether and so, Moving is one such instance of the superhero genre in the Korean drama landscape!

For starters, the show is extremely engaging with the pacing, storyline, action sequences, themes, and the performance of the cast and character relations. The pacing of the show is great. The tempo is neither too slow nor too fast, especially for a superhuman-themed action TV show, which more often than not, tends to lean towards mindless action more than character depth and storyline. Moving is a great concoction of fantasy, mystery, thriller, action, and of course, a romcom, the characteristic feature of Kdramas. No matter how serious the genre in Kdramas, chances are it will probably include some rom-com as well because, hey! a potential psychopath can have a love life! (cue: Flowers of Evil).

One of the charms of the show is the insanely good action sequences if you are among the crazy viewers like me who can store at least 3 days worth of energy on the dopamine released from sounds of punches, cracking bones, and sadistic attempts to kill a superhuman with regenerative powers. Moreover, it features the themes of bullying but now from the perspective of the silent observer and ethical questions that accompany the cost of a lost childhood when children are sold into becoming weapons of the state or in a simpler sense, sold into labor.

Also Read – La Shield Sunscreen Review – Lite SPF 50 Sunscreen Gel: Benefits, Price & FAQs

Lastly, the cast includes some highly acclaimed actors both young and veterans ranging from Han Hyo-Joo, and Ryu Seung-ryong to popular budding faces like Lee Jeong-ha, Go Youn-jung, Kim Do-hoon, and many more. And needless to mention, the quality of realistic character portrayal in the show is noteworthy. Take for example Han Hyo-Joo who transforms from her sassy, bold, no-nonsense Yoon Sae-bom in Happiness to a mother of a senior in high school and it’s almost difficult to ascertain that these two characters are played by the same person!

In a nutshell, Moving is, hands down, one of the most engaging and unique Kdramas released in 2023 and it would be a shame not to give it a chance with its interesting story, pacing, interesting characters, and the numerous mysteries unveiling themselves like the skins of an onion.
