The Ordinary Caffeine Solution Ingredients
The primary ingredients that the serum boasts are caffeine and EGCG. EGCG is an ingredient which is derived from Green Tea leaves. Green Tea is itself known for anti-oxidant and dark circle reduction. Caffeine is one considered one of the most important ingredients for eye creams and eye serums since it reduces puffiness and improves blood circulation. The Ordinary Caffeine Solution Review : My Experience
I choose The Ordinary Eye Serum based on many reviews and the active ingredients that the product boasts about. Many reviews stated a reduction in dark circles and puffiness and claimed that it is a good product overall. I also bought the product keeping in mind the price and quantity, that is ₹1200/£13 is hat the price was earlier for 30 mL bottle. However, my experience has been a little different.
I did a patch test which was successful and did not see any allergic reaction. However when I applied it on my eyes, the skin around my eyes started burning and I developed a scar-like and swollen eye contour. It remained for a few weeks until I stopped using the product and treated it with rose water. After a while, my skin seems to have adjusted to the product and it works like a normal product now. However, if you have sensitive skin, you might have to take caution since this is a high concentration product. It worked almost like how retinol takes some time to adjust with the skin.
About the claims, I did see considerable difference in bloating and puffiness around my eye contour. Even if I was sleep deprived and worked late at night, if I would use the product before sleeping, my eye contour would not become puffy in the morning as opposed to when I would not use it. So, it definitely works for puffiness. However, I did not see any difference in dark circle reduction.
About product consistency, it is very thick and gooey and it takes some time to get absorbed into the skin. But I noticed that my under eye area would feel more sticky with this product which I do not personally prefer since it is not a good experience in humidity. The product also accumulates on the bottle and I feel it is an unnecessary hassle.
For the cost effectiveness, I bought it at a cheaper price than what is it priced at now, that is ₹1200/£13 for 30ml. Yep. The ordinary price has now gone to the luxury level. It has a thick consistency so even though it has more product, it runs out on the same consumption rate that a lighter 15ml quantity product would. Considering the texture and performance, I think they are much better alternatives in the market. I personally wouldn’t be purchasing the product again since I feel at this price range, it under-serves its purposes especially with the burning skin issue I face initially.
