Grasmere is a beautiful village located in Cumbria. which got its name from a lake nearby. The village consists of several cafes, shops, and restaurants to explore.

Places to visit: William Wordsworth Daffodil Garden is a wonderful place if you are an aesthete, Lake Grasmere, Helm Crag

Things to do: Swimming in Lake Grasmere would be an awesome experience which you never have to miss, Hiking in Helm Crag

Restaurants to dine: Grasmere Gingerbread shop is one of the best and must try place but you would have to wait in a queue, Harley’s Bistro & Café Bar

Keswick is a market town and has become a big tourist attraction. It consists of museums, lakes, and viewpoints which are some of its must-visits.

#3 Buttermere

If you are a person who loves calm places then Buttermere is for you. It comprises mountains and lakes in a smooth setting, thus earning its name which means ‘lake by the dairy pastures.

Places to visit: Scale Force Falls, Moss Force, Crummock Water

Things to do: Trekking in crummock water, the Scenery in Rannerdale Knotts

#5 Kendal

Kendal is located to the south of the Lake District, and it is about 9 miles from Windermere. Kendal is a treat to all castle lovers as the town is surrounded by castles.

Places to visit: Levens Hall is a manor house with a beautiful garden scape, Kendal Castle, Sizergh Castle, and Holy Trinity Church

Things to do: Trek across Howgill Fells, Hike Kentmere Horseshoe

Things to do: Visit St. Michael & All Angels Church, You can make a visit to the Hawkshead grammar school attended by William Wordsworth

Restaurants to dine: The Village Chippy at Hawkshead, Ginny’s Teapot, Los Lagos
