This year, as in previous years, we have seen some excellent buys. When you look at the prices they were sold for, the players that pulled out of the IPL during the last auction appear to be a strategy. Harry Brook was the pick that most pleased me. SRH have made some wise choices, not going after every player with the money they have.
I’m incredibly excited to see how my favourite team’s strategies will be implemented on the field. With players like Cameron Green and Jye Richardson in Auction, the club appears to be in good hands. In the next segment, I’d want to present a team analysis of all ten teams. Now let’s talk about the main topic now.
Rise in Demand for English Players in this year’s IPL Auction
English cricket was always a class from the beginning. However, in recent years, they have pushed their cricket brand to a new level. Their approach and attitude have clearly shifted from what they were previously. Congratulations to the management and players who have worked tirelessly to achieve this level. They are the powerhouse of world cricket right now, with the Championship in both white ball and the innovative bazz ball approach in red ball formats.
The Hundred
Although few have mentioned it, I believe that The Hundred event will cause a significant shift in the approach of English players. After two seasons, the league has developed its own character and uniqueness.
With a high-quality domestic framework that includes the County Championship, Royal Oneday Cup, and Vitality Blast, the ECB is on the right track for the future.
The Rise of English Cricketers in IPL
The England Limited over Skipper, Joseph Charles Buttler, has been a part of the Rajasthan Royal is blazing in every IPL season, and he’s almost the face of the franchise now. Sam Curran and Ben Stokes stole the show in this year’s auction, with record-breaking prices in IPL history.
The competition between teams for Sam Curran demonstrates the calibre of player he is and his all-around skill. With MS Dhoni’s retirement looming, Benjamin Stokes might take over as captain of the Chennai Super Kings. This will also be an excellent substitute.
Let’s Talk About The Big Man – Joe Root
Now let’s talk about this big man – Joe Root. This man, who isn’t even on England’s T20 squad. But, w hen everyone is discussing the significance of Stokes and Curra. I am personally excited to see this guy play in the IPL. T20 isn’t all power hitting and flashy strokes, as Ajinkya Rahanae demonstrated with some solid innings for the Rajasthan Royals in the past. I hope Joe Root gives it his all in his first IPL season.
